Amirul mumineen (SA) succinctly lists the benefits of travel in a verse.
He states:
Journey from your home in the pursuit of greatness, for travel has five benefits
- Your anxieties and troubles will dissipate
- You will earn a livelihood
- You will gain knowledge and experience
- You will learn etiquettes and culture
- And you will gain the companionship of a worthy man
Whether it is a business trip an excursion or a ziyarat tour, Hudat Kiraam (AS) have given nuskha for a successful and safe journey
They advise:
- Perform sadaqa
- Pray 2 rak’at of Qada’ul Hawaij
- Recite this dua
اَللّْهُمَّ اِنِّي اَسٍّتَوٍّدِعُكَ نَـفٍّسِيٍّ وَ اَهٍّلِيٍّ وَ مَالِيٍّ وَ دِيـٍّنِيٍّ وَ دُنٍّياَيَ وَ اْخِرَتِيٍّ وَ اَمَانَتِيٍّ وَ خَاتِمَةَ عَمَلِيٍّ اَللّْهُمَّ احٍّفَظٍّنِيٍّ وَ احٍّفَظٍّ مَا مَعِيَ وَ بَلِّغٍّنِيٍّ وَ بَلِّغٍّ مَا مَعِيَ بَلاَغَكَ الٍّحَسَنَ
- When boarding the vehicle recite:
بِسٍّمِ اللهِ اَللهُ ا
7 times سُبٍّحَانَ الله
7 times اَلٍّحَمٍّدُ لِله
7 times اَللهُ اَكٍّبر
7 times لا َاِلْهَ اِلاَّ الله
Then recite this ayat
سُبٍّحَانَ الَّذِيٍّ سَخَّرَ لَنَا هْذا وَ مَا كُنَّا لَه مُقٍّرِنِيٍّن
And Surat e Yaseen
Awliyaullah (AS) also advise when travelling together pool your resources and expenses for this will ensure goodwill and prevent animosity.
