Nothing makes Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin(TUS) happier than beholding the radiance of happiness sparkling on the faces of his children, the mumineen; a radiance which reflects the truthfulness of their hearts, the fulfillment of their desires, the equanimity of their personalities, the glow of imaan and their physical and social well being.

This radiance emanates from acts of worship towards Allah and noble deeds towards mankind, with purity of purpose and nobility of intention.

People celebrate occasions of happiness in different ways; mumineen are distinct in the way they celebrate the most joyous occasion in their calendar - the Milad Mubarak of their Aqa and Maula, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin(TUS). Their celebration is unique in that they perform namaaz with punctuality, recite Quran e Majeed, dua and tasabeeh, and engage in activities of welfare and upliftment over a period of forty days, commencing with the Milad Mubarak of Rasulullah(SAW) and culminating with the Milad Mubarak of Aqa Maula(TUS). These deeds are carried out with regularity so they become a part of their daily routine for the rest of their lives. Aqa Maula(TUS) in the Chehlum waaz mubarak stated: "Chehlum doesn't mean the end of mourning on Imam Husain(AS). Grief and matam on Imam Husain(SA) is forever." He also said, "Weep on Imam Husain(AS) everyday, just as you recite Quran daily; at least shed one tear a day."

Forty days is a period prescribed by Awliyaullah for developing a habit or mastering a skill. Learning of new information or skill involves the formation of new connections between brain cells. It takes roughly the same number of days for a neural connection to form, develop and strengthen. During these forty days, mumineen perform their acts of ‘ibadaat with the intent of earning the happiness of their Dai and emulating him in every aspect in order to be like him in their own capacity.
