Interview

Nooruddin Bhaisaheb

This issue, Misbah interviews Nooruddin Bhaisaheb, the current Amilsaheb of Colombo, the city that has hosted the Ashara Mubaraka of 1429.

How long have you been in Amalat?

I have been in Amalat for 39 years.

How many times has your city of Amalat hosted Ashara Mubaraka?

5 times

Tell us about the preparations and problems associated with organizing Ashara Mubaraka?

Colombo has had the honor of hosting two consecutive Ashara Mubaraka. In 1428, new systems were introduced. A few flaws were rectified. Mumineen did not have to wait a long time for the confirmation of their accommodation and although it is difficult to satisfy everyone, we succeeded in making it comfortable for the majority of people.

In the same vein, last years problems regarding the mawaid were rectified and highly appreciated.

The mumineen of Colombo are now well trained in their departments of khidmat and as soon as Ashara was declared, the local teams of accommodation, mawaid, transport, I.T, masjid construction, etc had done their homework. Furthermore, they set out to work according to their plan and members of the team coordinated with each other as well as members of other departments. Each individual carried out their specified task with utmost dedication and hence, they excelled.

Ashara Mubaraka changes people in terms of deen, duniya and akherat. How?

Huzurala (TUS)’s Ashara Mubaraka is an institution for uplifment of mumineen in deen, duniya and akherat. Ashara ijtimah started in 1399 in Jamnagar and Ashara in Colombo 1429 completes 31 years of such ijtimah. It is the barakat that mumineen receive in these days that has transformed the community.

The aqaid of mumineen has strengthened; their mohabbat, tafadi and ikhlas have resulted in the complete change of their lifestyles. They are distinct and distinguished from others in their culture, their adab, their characteristics, shiaar and clothes. They are totally committed to Shariat Mohammediya.

It had benefited in duniya as well – due to the barakat of Ashara Mubaraka, mumineen’s businesses flourish as well as it gives them an opportunity visit various cities and countries and meet new people and build business relations.

Furthermore, the barakat received during Ashara Mubaraka is a kanz (treasure) for akherat. Aqa Maula (TUS)’s bayan has made our souls noorani.

“An Amil is Maula’s representative, one of his aaza” Do you feel Aqa Maula’s yaari in your actions?

No amil or any other individual can perform without Aqa Maula’s (TUS) nazarat. In my career of khidmat I have sought Huzurala’s benedictions and yaari constantly. To seek his yaari an amil should offer Nazrul Maqam (AS), pray duas and take the minnat of Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) and Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS). If there is purity in his niyyat then Aqa Maula’s (TUS) yaari will flow.

For this Ashara Mubaraka we only had 5 days to complete the arrangements and khidmat guzaars started the preparations with prayers and minnat, knowing that yaari is showered on them during these auspicious days.

In your opinion, what are the qualities that an Amil must possess? What makes a good Amil?

I believe that a good amil should possess these qualities:

  • He should be a mentor, friend and guide to mumineen.

  • He should earn respect by his deeds and acts.

  • He should be paband of shariat so that he becomes an example to others.

  • He should be soft-spoken and listen to mumineen with patience and without prejudice.

  • He should chose to surround himself with people of good repute as his aids and ayaan.

  • He should be aware of business, lifestyle, family, aqida, etc of all mumineen in his city, town or village.

  • He should be easily approachable. His door is open for everyone, always.

  • He should be well dressed.

  • He should be eloquent in his speech.
