Imam Aamir's (SA) Shahadat

Imam Husain's (SA) shahadat ensured that no Imam ever after will be killed in battle. Imam Amir (SA) who is the only shaheed after Imam Husain (SA) was not killed in a battlefield.

Imam Amir (SA) knew of his impending assassination and would often allude about it to his courtiers. He once poked a knife into a watermelon and uttered the word (Miskeen, son of Miskeen, will be slain by a knife.) Although the words were obvious, his courtiers could not understand their meaning. Whereas Maulatena Hurratul Maleka (RA), miles away from the Imam's (SA) palace, understood the indication of the Imam's (SA) shahadat when she saw the old handkerchief Imam Amir (SA) had sent her.

The Nizari faction had plotted the Imam's (SA) assassination by placing a man on the top of a tower. When the Imam's escort passed through the spot, the man jumped from the tower causing chaos and confusion. The Imam's (SA) body guards deserted him in order to find out the cause of the confusion leaving the Imam (SA) vulnerable. Taking this opportunity, the Nizaris attacked the Imam (SA) with knives. The Imam (SA) was brought back to the palace seriously wounded.
