One day a man was taken before Rasulullah (SAW). He was accused of stealing a camel. Some people testified against him and brought the camel as well. Rasulullah (SAW) ordered his hand to be cut off as punishment. When the man heard Rasulullah's (SAW) judgment he started praying salawaat. At that very moment the camel spoke up, "O Rasulullah (SAW) I swear by Allah that this man has not stolen me." Upon hearing this Rasulullah (SAW) decided not to have his hand cut off and to let him go. Rasulullah (SAW) asked the man what he was doing when he heard his punishment. The man said that he was praying salawaat.
Rasulullah (SAW) told him that this was a very good deed. Due to the barakat of salawaat Allah had sent an angel to protect him and because of this salawaat his face would be radiant on the Day of Judgment.
