Riwayat

There was once a Yahudi (Jewish) man whose daughter was unwell. She was unable to move or walk and was blind. One day the Yahudi man sat his daughter under a tree in a garden and went to a nearby town. Night fell but he did not return.

The girl was used to talking to her father at bed-time. So that night she remained awake. At the time of sihori before dawn, she heard a bird wailing in sorrow and went towards the source of the sound. The bird had come from Kerbala following the martyrdom of Imam Husain (SA) and was coloured with Imam Husain's (SA) blood. The bird's tears fell on the eyes and body of the girl. Due to the barakat of those tears and of the blood of Imam Husain (SA) the girl was able to see, and her arms and legs were cured.

Once the girl could see and had strength in her body, she roamed the garden awaiting her father's return. In the morning, the Yahudi man came back and did not recognize the daughter. He asked her if she had seen his daughter who was sitting under the same tree. The girl told him that she was his daughter and related the incident of the wailing bird and how she had been cured.

After witnessing this miracle of Imam Husain (SA), the Yahudi man, his daughter and 500 of his followers adopted Islam.
