Maula! Maula! Maula! The chanting increased with each passing moment, heightened by the fervent expectation of witnessing the radiant countenance of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) emerging from the window of the "ghurfat mubarakah" the blessed room, on the first floor of Evan-ul-Barakat. A few seconds later, Maula appeared in the window to bless mumineen. It was a sight beyond words. Underneath, the students of Al-Jamea-tus-Saifiyah and hundreds of mumineen, were trying to get a glimpse of Maula, beseeching his blessings, and capturing this eternal moment in their hearts.

This marked the culmination of the annual examinations of Al-Jamea-tus-Saifiyah. A memorable finale for a memorable event.

Al-Jamea-tus-Saifiyah, established by the 43rd Dai-l-Mutlaq, Syedna Abde Ali Saifuddin (RA) in 1243 Hijri as Dars-e-Saifee and  later upgraded to the level of a university by the 51st Dai-l-Mutlaq, Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA), is a university unique in all its aspects; concept, skills, curriculum, teaching methodology and infrastructure. The most striking feature of this university is the system of its annual examinations: the presence of Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS), who personally conducts, supervises and authorizes the process of examination. Aqa Maula (TUS) sits patiently listening to the answers of each and every student who appears for the viva examinations (shafahi).

The annual examinations are not just an event in the calendar of the university, but an occasion for all the members of the community to receive divine blessings, fulfill hopes, enrich spiritual knowledge and enhance their faiths. The examinations are preceded by 'Zikra Majlis,' in which Maula delivers waaz and sets the tone for the examinations. Thousands of mumineen, from all over the world, throng the city of Surat to attend 'Zikra,' listen to Maula's bayan and return to their dwellings with their hearts filled with blessings, their minds enriched with divine knowledge, and their lives changed with the blessings of Maula's prayer.
