Riwayat

Safina

Imam Mehdi (SA) and his son, Imam Qaim (SA), were captured by enemies and imprisoned in Misr. There were also other prisoners held captive there.

One day Imam Mehdi (SA) asked the prisoners: Do you wish to escape from this prison with me? The prisoners began to laugh as they believed that escape was impossible.

Imam Mehdi (SA) went to one of the doors of the prison and ripped it out. With a piece of coal, he drew a picture of a ship on it. When the picture was finished the Imam (SA) said: Those of you, who wish to leave this prison, sit upon this door with me.

Imam Mehdi (AS), Imam Qaim (AS) and all the other prisoners sat on the door except for one prisoner who did not believe what the Imam said.

The door lifted and began to float in the air. The prisoner desperately tried to catch hold of the door and climb on to it, but it was too late. He fell and broke his ankle. The door reached the Nile River.

This amazing incident became known to everybody. When people saw this door floating on the Nile they were certain that Mehdi had arrived.
