Wednesday Ist Moharram 61: Imam Husain (AS) was on his last journey from Mecca to Kerbala with a group of his Ahle-Bayt and Ashaab. On the following day, the 2nd of Moharram Imam Husain's (AS) horse halted at the land of karb and balaa, the land of suffering and distress, where the Imam put up his tents.
Ist Moharram 333: Imam Al Qaim (S.A.) sent his army under the leadership of Bushra Al Khadim to Bojou (Tunis) to fight Dajjal Abu Yazeed. As this news reached Dajjal, he marched towards Bojou from Tunis followed by a large army of Berbers. Dajjal mercilessly killed men and children, imprisoned and raped women, and snatched their possessions on his way to Bojou.
A fierce battle took place in Bojou between Dajjal and Bushra's army. Dajjal's army was facing defeat. At that time, Dajjal was standing aside with 400 cavalry and 400 infantry with open swords. On seeing his army facing defeat, he stepped down from his horse, mounted a donkey and questioned: "Is this the action of a defeated man?"
But then Dajjal's army gained advantage. Several of Bushra's soldiers were killed or wounded, several others fled, but Bushra managed to escape with a small battalion.
1st Moharram 336: The son of Abu Yazeed Dajjal, named Fazal Bin Mikhlad, and another conspirator Maabad Bin Khazr entered Tubna, in Tunis. Battle took place between them and Imam's followers till noon, then the enemies fled. Fifteen of the cavalry and numerous of the infantry of Ibn Khazar were killed. The enemy was defeated.
1st Moharram: Maulaya Abdullah (Q.R) died. Maulaya Abdullah was one of three great men who traveled to Yemen and Egypt to seek education from Maulaya Lamak Bin Malik. They were also tutored by Syedna al-Moayyad al-Shirazi (RA).
Soon after, Imam Mustansir Billah (S.A) sent him to Gujarat as an ambassador of Dawat. At Khambat, he came across Kaka Akela and Kaki Akeli on their farm. On witnessing Maulaya Abdullah's miracle in which he drew water from a dried well both converted to Islam. Maulaya Abdullah later met Tarmal, minister of the king of Gujarat. Eventually, Tarmal too converted to Islam, and through him the King, Sidra Jai Singh, entered the fold of Eman. By 487 Hijri the Dawat had spread all over Gujarat.
Ist Moharram 1401: 1st Moharram, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) inaugurated Al Jame ul Anwar in Cairo, Egypt. It was constructed during Imam Hakim's (SA) era and renovated after nearly 1000 years. Taking into consideration the arduous task, it was built within just 28 months and therefore is regarded as a miraculous achievement.
Ist Moharram1404: Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin TUS inaugurated 'Taheri Masjid' in Karachi, Pakistan.
Ist Moharram 1423: The first day of the Islamic new year. Thousands gathered in Mumbai for Ashara Mubaraka with Aqa Maula (TUS) in Mumbai. The Majlis begins with the recitation of Quran-e-majeed, followed by qadambosi of mumineen, mumenaat and their children. Qasida Mubaraka of Syedna Al Moayyad Al Shirazi Hilalun bada is recited. Masjid-e-Azam echoes with mubarak mubarak as mumineen congratulate their Maula (TUS) on the dawn of the new year. Jamaat is held thereafter, and the youngest person in each thaal performs the traditional wadhawani ceremony of the thaal. Mumineen anticipate the days of Eid-ul-Huzn wal Kaab, the Eid of grief and mourning on Imam Husain (SA).
