Awliya-ul-allah (AS) provide us with the highest wasila there is. And so, be it a time of hardship, celebration or thanksgiving, mumineen never fail to seek the wasila of Syedna Hatim (RA) and Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA), through whom the worldly and spiritual aspirations are fulfilled.
Huzurala (TUS) says:
Shams Al Duat al Mutlaqeen, Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) is Hatim Al Daur (Hatim of this age). He encompasses and portrays the shanaat and miracles of Syedna Hatim (RA). Thus mumineen today seek the wasila of both Maula and undertake to observe the majlis of Darees.
The greatness of Syedna Hatim Mohyuddin (RA), the third Dai al Mutlaq of Yemen is unparalleled, so that any attempted praise of his divine personage would be inadequate. Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) captures the greatness of Syedna Hatim (RA) in his verse:
O breeze of the morning, make haste towards the qabr of Syedna Hatim, who is the ocean of generosity, who grants us our hopes and fulfils our yearnings.
And so many blind and sick people he has cured, he has given life to the dead, he has quenched the thirst of the parched.
The wasila of Syedna Hatim (RA) is the elixir of life, which when sought by a mumin bereaved or beset by difficulties, is a source of renewal and regeneration. The miracles of Syedna Hatim (RA) are legendary. The story of the handful of dust that was transformed into dinars is well known throughout the Islamic community.
The practice of conducting darees is a tradition perpetuated since the reign of Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA). Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin (TUS) emulating the practices of his esteemed father, advises mumineen to take the wasila of Syedna Hatim and conduct darees in his name.
