One obstacle that presented itself during the restoration of Jame ul Anwar was the stubborn presence of a tomb, called "Qubba Qarqamash" right in front of the façade. It not only blocked the entrance, but also interfered with the beauty of the masjid. This tomb was not easy to remove as it was a monument that belonged to the Mamluk period.
As a result of the endeavors and dua mubarak of Aqa Maula (TUS), the Egyptian government consented for the transfer of the tomb. The tomb was shifted from Jame ul Anwar to a graveyard. The shifting was done with meticulous care. Each block of stone was numbered before dismantling, and was rebuilt as per original design, stone for stone.
The removal of the tomb not only restored the beauty of the façade, but also exposed some interesting inscriptions.
