Mulla Raja never missed a single namaaz. In fact, he made it a practice to get ready for namaaz before time. He earned a living by weaving. One day he was engrossed in his work as the time for namaaz was approaching. He estimated that he could finish in time for namaaz. However, by the time he finished, the sun was already setting.
He hurriedly lowered his bucket in the well to draw water for wuzu, but as he pulled it up he found it full of jewels. A voice cried out from the well, “If you desire the world take these jewels and you will never need to work again.” Mulla Raja was saddened. With tears in his eyes, he did istighfaar and prayed, “O Allah, I have no need for these jewels, I only need water for wuzu, so that I can pray namaaz on time,” He threw the bucket of jewels back into the well.
When he pulled the bucket out once again it was full of water. He thanked Allah, did wuzu, and prayed namaaz on time.
For his piety, devotion and sacrifice, Allah rewarded him with priceless jewels—Duat Mutlaqeen (SA) from among his descendants.
He was Mulla Raja, but due to his strong belief and khidmet he came to be known as Maulaya Raja. The qabr mubarak of Maulaya Raja is in Morbi.
