In the 266th
Ayah of Surat ul Baqara the Quran e Majeed presents a
question:
Would it please anyone to have a beautiful garden, abundant with date palms
and grapes, with streams flowing underneath; a garden filled with
all kinds of fruits- only to have disaster strike it in his old age?
Would it
please him that his progeny be oppressed after him and a whirlwind
of fire descend upon this paradise destroying it in its entirety?
A Hypothetical Question?
A question that paints such a vivid and agonizing picture? Indeed what could
be more painful than seeing one’s children persecuted, every
painstakingly planted tree burnt down, till there is nothing left
but a barren desolate land! Truly one could not bear to hear of such
a calamity descend upon any human being let alone those whom he
holds dear.
Alas! Then who could bear for such a calamity to befall Rasulullah (SAW)! Those who
professed to be indebted to the Prophet for guiding them towards
Islam repaid his ehsaan by denying his daughter Fatema (SA)
her rights, by hauling his Vasi Amir ul mumineen (SA) like a
camel and martyring him with a poisoned sword, then poisoning his
grandson Imam Hasan (SA).
The ultimate tyranny was on the day of Aashura, when those enemies of Rasulullah
(SAW) slaughtered Syyed ush Shohada Imam Husain (SA), his
Ahl ul Bayt and As-haab in the scorching desert sands of
Kerbala.
As Syedna Taher Saifuddin (RA) sorrowfully relates in his Nasihat- such
a blistering wind blew over the garden of Rasulullah (SAW) on that
day that each and every flower and bud was burnt.
Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin (TUS) instructs: each time you recite Quran e
Majeed you remember Imam Husain (SA). Tears shed in the sorrow of
Imam Husain (SA) are equivalent to the recitation of Quran e Majeed.
The adad (numerical value) of dam ‘a (tear) is 114
which corresponds to the number of sura in the Quran—114. |
